Another Ear Infection?

So we got home last night and when I picked Giana up from daycare she said mama my ear hurts. So I think well maybe she means itches. But I thought to myself we will watch it and because tomorrow was Friday if I suspected anything I will be sure to take her in before the weekend. Well by 8pm she was screaming and in a lot of pain. So I raced her to the walk in clinic. All to find out not only did she have a double ear infection. She also had the start of an upper respiratory infection and the FLU! So now I felt like a terrible mom. How on earth could I not see she was this sick. But as we waited for the flu test to be ran this was the scene in the exam room.

I mean she made herself at home. Took her shoes off, cuddled up and started to watch the Fresh Beat Band. And said to the doctor. "My ear...it Hurts." And he said we will fix it. And so she repeatedly told me at the walk in that the doctor is going to fix it. And boy was it one long night. She was up all night tossing and turning and crying. She was in a lot of pain and boy does it make you feel helpless.

But now we are on our road to recovery. As we took a sick day we decided to take our minds off of our ears and play princess.

Bag Lady

OK so maybe we are responsible for our actions because our kids may pick up on the things we do and copy us thinking this is what we are supposed to do. Here is why I came to this conclusion. Giana and I were going to a birthday party and I asked if she wanted to bring anything. Usually says...yes my bear or my baby. But this day was different. After a couple minutes she appeared and looked like this.

THE BAG LADY!

I do not know if you can tell she also has on a BACKPACK.

So apparently we need to work on taking less things with us.

Snow...snow...and MORE SNOW!!

Well this morning Giana woke up to much disappointment. Mommy talked to her the night before saying she would wake up and there would be snow. So she woke up Thursday morning peaked her head outside and says....."Mommy it is so......BEAUTIFUL?" and then asked, "Hey mommy where is the snow?"

So I had to take a deep breath and say. I am so sorry sweetheart. There is no snow. I mean come on. How on earth do you explain to a 2 year old that sometimes the weather man....and mommy....are WRONG!?!?!?!

So to much her surprise as we left her daycare building there it was. A LOT OF SNOW!
And the first thing she did was stop, stick out her tongue and taste it.

So when we got home we put on our snow gear and started the fun. And can I say this is exactly why we have children. To be a kid again and PLAY IN THE SNOW!!!!!

And played we did. We did it ALL!!!!

We went Sledding

Did some shoveling

Built a snowman

AND made snow angels
But all things come to an end.
So we went in to warm up those cheeks.

And now my little snow bird is sleeping soundly from all that cool fresh air!
HAPPY SHOVELING!

Giana the Multitasker

OK she is 2 and is already training her multitasking skills with various media devices.

Gotta love technology.
Now mama has also lost her phone!!!

One big belly!

So Miss Giana has become a fan of going out to eat. And thank you to the Minnie mouse snap on toys and the IPAD. We as a family can enjoy many dinner outings at various sit down establishments without any meltdowns.

So Giana has chosen her favorite.
And that would be The Olive Garden. (That's my little Italian Girl)
But seriously you almost have to be there to believe but for a 2 year old it is pretty amazing when they bring the salad and she jumps for joy. Then the Lasagna Fritas. She can eat 2-3 all by herself. Then her MEAL comes and she eats some but I think I know why she does not totally fill up on dinner. Because she totally loves the Lemon Cake and she can literally eat the whole piece on her own. The proof is below.

LOOK AT THAT BELLY!

SALUTE!!!!!!
